You have questions, we have answers.

Q: What are acceptable payment options?

Answer: We have finally caught up with the times, WE NOW OFFER ONLINE BILL PAY! We accept cash, check, debit card, or credit card payments.

Your payment can be mailed in, dropped off, paid over the phone or paid online! If you have additional questions about payment please call (503.838.0464) for more details.

Q: Do we offer/have curbside glass pick up?

Answer: Yes, we do! If you have garbage service with us then we offer curbside glass pick up. The glass should be placed in our Yellow Bin or in a bin that you prefer without a top.

Please do not put glass in additional paper, plastic bags, or drink carriers. Glass should be free standing in the yellow bin (or personal bin) without any contaminants, glass only!! Glass is picked up every other week with recycling (blue) carts.

Q: Do you pick up paint? Can paint be dropped off at the Recycling Center? Can paint be placed in garbage (green) cart?

Answer: The answer to all of those questions in NO. Paint is considered a hazardous material and needs to be disposed of properly. We DO NOT accept paint and additional charges will be added to your account if the paint is disposed of improperly.

To dispose of paint, you need to wait until Polk County offers their Hazardous Waste Clean Up (typical around October at Independence Riverfront Park) there paint is accepted and handled properly! Thanks

Q: Do you take/pick up appliances?

Answer: We encourage customers to recycle the best they can and appliances can be recycled by contacting Master Appliance in Monmouth at 503-838-1667. Here is a list of appliances that we can dispose of: Microwaves, toasters, coffee makers, and BBQ’s without propane tanks.

Propane tanks ARE NOT acceptable. We DO NOT accept refrigerators, freezers, stoves, dishwashers, computer screens or televisions.

Q: Where can I recycle electronics?

Answer: That is a great question. Oregon has a fantastic program in place called Oregon E-Cycles. Oregon E-Cycles is a statewide program that provides responsible recycling for televisions, computers, monitors, printers, keyboards, and mice. Please visit their website at www.oregonecycles.org or call 1-888-532-9253 for a list of participating collection services and sites near you.

We do not accept these items curbside, dropped off, or in our recycling center. The closest location that accepts these electronics is the Goodwill Truck located next to AutoZone and Roth’s in Independence.
