Service Guidelines
Green Cart: Non-hazardous waste, Household
Additional service required for these materials, please call for more information about disposing of:

Chemicals; Fluids (may cause a mess and additional clean up)

Rocks, Cement, Gravel, Dirt

State Mandated Medical Waste; State Mandated Hazardous Waste

Heavy items or additional waste that “overfills” the cart preventing the lid from closing.
It is highly suggested that regular light household waste is placed in a garbage bag and sealed to prevent waste from spilling and creating a mess when dumping, it will also keep carts clean for a long period of time.
Brown Cart: Yard Debris
Service is every other week (bi-weekly).
Acceptable items include:

Grass
-
Leaves
-
Twigs
-
Brush
-
Pine Needles
-
Christmas Trees (trimmed down)

Pumpkins
-
Limbs (not over 4” in Diameter).
These items are not acceptable in the brown bin:

Ashes
-
Dirt
-
Sod
-
Rock
-
Gravel
-
Stones
-
Cement
-
Stumps
-
Logs
-
Animal waste or litter
-
Painted or finished wood
-
NO PLASTIC BAGS!
Items must be free from contamination (no plastics, plastic bags or any bags for that matter, household waste, and “garbage”). The lid must be closed completely to prevent the excess mess.
Blue Cart: Recycling/Commingle
Service is every other week (bi-weekly).
Acceptable items include:
- Cardboard/Greyboard: These items must be separated from other contaminants and flattened.
- Please take Styrofoam out of cardboard it is a household waste and should be placed in the GREEN cart.
- Plastic packing materials must also be separated and placed in the GREEN cart because it is WASTE and non-recyclable.
- We encourage you to self-separate your cardboard and greyboard from your BLUE cart and bring down to our convenient 24-hour recycling depot and placed flattened in our large red cardboard containers.
- NO PIZZA BOXES or EGG CARTONS!!
- Paper:
- Magazines
- Newspaper
- Phone books
- Paperback books
- Catalogs
- Clean mixed paper
- Office paper
- Copier printer paper
- Paper bags, and notepaper.
- Please do not bundle paper, no plastic bags, no glitter and the newest one NO SHREDDED PAPER!!
- Tin & Aluminum:
- Acceptable items include
- All food safe tin & coffee tin, please rinse and clean out food waste.
- Things that are NOT acceptable for tin or aluminum would be
- Metal products (brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, and steel)
- Cooking products
- Foil or aerosol cans!
- Plastics (Bottles & Jugs only): All plastics must be rinsed, cleaned and dried.
- Only plastic bottles and jugs that are 12 ounces or larger without lids.
- That means any plastic bottles or jugs that are smaller than 12 ounces must be placed in the garbage (pill bottles, vitamin bottles, and yogurt containers).
These items are not acceptable in the blue bin:

To go, take out, clamshell containers (all sizes)

Solo cups or Drink Cups (No dutch bros cups, coffee cups)

Plastic Tubs (Clorox wipe tub, yogurt tubs, butter containers)

Any plastic marked with a number 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 on it!

Any plastic marked with a number 1 or 2 on it that isn’t a bottle or jug over 12 ounces.

Plastic pots for plants

Large storage totes or bins

Child toys
-
Car parts
-
Plastic Bags

Aseptic containers (Oregon chai, A2, Lactaid, Silk, SO, and Organic Valley to name a few)

Plumbing piping (PVC pipes) or Gutters
All items placed in Blue Recycling/Commingle Cart must be empty, clean & dry.
Yellow Bin: Glass/Oil
Service is every other week (bi-monthly) and is always the same week as Recycling (Blue Cart).
Acceptable items include:

Glass bottles and jars
-
Motor Oil that isn’t mixed with any other liquid and placed in a sealed container (2 gallons max)
These items are not acceptable in the yellow bin:
- Broken glass
- Light bulbs
- Window glass
- Flower Vases
- Ceramics
- Mirrors
- Cardboard drink carriers
- Plastic Bags
- Any chemicals or liquids.
- Motor oil is the only acceptable liquid in the yellow bin
*We accept batteries, only small household batteries and they need to be placed in a sealable bag, in your yellow bin.
